Research Visit from Toyota Technological Institute
We hosted S. T., a first-year master's student from the Shiihara Laboratory at Toyota Technological Institute, for a research visit from October 5 to 9, 2026.
Exploring the structure and dynamics of liquids, glasses, and colloids through scattering experiments, theory, and simulation.
Explore research ↗We investigate the irregular structures formed by atoms, molecules, and particles in liquids, glasses, and colloidal dispersions, and how these structures evolve over time. By combining scattering experiments, theory, and numerical simulations, we seek to understand how microscopic structural dynamics are related to relaxation, flow, and macroscopic physical properties.
We explore the physics of dynamic aperiodic matter through the structure and dynamics of liquids, glasses, and colloidal dispersions.
Investigating spatiotemporal correlations and structural relaxation to understand the microscopic origins of fluidity.
Exploring the relationships between local structure, dynamical heterogeneity, deformation, and mechanical response.
Studying how interactions, charging, screening, and rheological properties are connected.
